2017 Audi S3: what owners report

The ride is firm: two 2016 and two 2017 reviewers call it harsh or noisy over bumps, one blaming 19-inch wheels, and a French owner of a third-generation car finds it tiring on poor roads.2013–2017
Space is limited for a family: three of the recent 2017 reviewers and one 2016 owner mention a small boot or a tight rear seat.2016–2017
Serious failures are rare but costly: one 2017 owner reports an engine failure at about 78,000 miles and a $17,000 repair quote; on CarComplaints, one 2015 owner each reports a thermostat coolant leak and rough downshifts.2015–2017
Performance is the near-universal praise: almost every recent Cars.com reviewer of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 S3 highlights its acceleration, power or handling.2015–2017
