2018 Chevrolet Malibu: what owners report

A frequently reported fault: the car does not register that the lever is in Park, the dash keeps asking to shift to Park and the car will not switch off. GM issued a service bulletin; the usual fix is a shifter switch or assembly.2016–2023
Complaint volumes drop steeply for later cars: about 30 for the 2018 model year and only single figures for each year from 2019 to 2023 on CarComplaints.2018–2023
