2005 Mazda Axela - a practical and reliable hatchback that’s been a good runner. I’m the first New Zealand owner, and it’s proven to be dependable transport.

This has the 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with an auto, which makes it easy to drive around town or on longer trips. It’s fuel efficient for its size, which helps keep running costs down. The hatchback body style offers good space for passengers and gear, making it practical for everyday use.

It’s in good working order and has been looked after as much as possible, a few scratches as you can see in the photos. As you’d expect with the kilometres it’s covered, it shows some age, but mechanically it’s sound.

The only thing that needs fixing is the driver’s window. It doesn’t come fully down so that just needs to get replaced but it’s an easy fix, I just never bothered because when it happened I already decided I was upgrading to a Hybrid car and a bigger car for my family.
