Great shape for its age! Well-maintained and reliable SUV, ideal for camping, road trips and winter driving.
The engine and transmission run very well. 4WD works properly, including AUTO, 4HI and 4LO.
The body is remarkably clean for a 2005 vehicle, with almost no body rust — just a few small spots starting to appear. There are a few scratches along the sides, but none go through to bare metal.
There is age-related rust underneath. The vehicle passed a roadworthiness inspection for insurance. It was also inspected when we considered switching from Alberta to BC registration. It did not pass the BC inspection because the shop required work on the front control arms/ball joints. We later replaced one of the ball joints, as advised by another mechanic. The vehicle has continued to drive well.
Inside, it’s a 7-seater with heated leather seats. The rear seats fold flat, creating a huge cargo/sleeping area. We, currently have a queen-size mattress in the back, which can be included with the sale — great for camping and road trips.
The previous owners had the Armada for 19 years and kept extensive service and repair records, which come with the vehicle. We continued documenting regular maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations. The most recent oil change was done just a few weeks ago.
It’s currently on Michelin Defender LTX all-season tires. They’re in good condition with at least another year of life left in them and have been excellent in winter, with very good grip on snow and ice.
Known issues:
• Engine oil pressure sensor does not work
• Airbag warning light flashes
• Previous BC inspection called for work on the front control arms/ball joints; one ball joint was subsequently replaced as advised by another mechanic
The oil-pressure sensor and airbag light were already present under the previous ownership and have remained unchanged during our ownership.
Features & extras:
• 7 seats with rear seats folding flat
• Heated leather seats
• Bluetooth audio connectivity
• Integrated roof rack
• Full-size spare tire
• Queen-size mattress available
• Air compressor
• Jumper cables
• Additional tools, including two tire-pressure gauges
• Extensive service and repair history
Overall, it’s been a reliable, spacious and very capable 4WD, particularly well suited for camping, road trips and winter driving.
