2007 Nissan Navara: what owners report

On the D40, UK owners describe chassis rails cracking or snapping behind the cab, some after heavy towing and some put down to rust; in 2017 Nissan offered free inspections case by case rather than a recall.2005–2015
The D40's timing chain can wear: one forum owner blames the switch to a single-row chain and infrequent oil changes, a German guide notes chain problems in isolated cases, and an Australian owner's 2007 chain snapped.2005–2015
A German guide says D40 manual clutches often fail before 100,000 km and worn rear axle seals let the bearings develop play, and two UK owners needed a new dual-mass flywheel.2005–2015
