2011 Seat Ibiza: what owners report

Several UK owners of 2010-2011 cars report fuel and emissions faults: injectors, a fuel pump, an EGR valve and a particulate-filter problem; one warns the filter will not clean itself on short trips.2010–2011
German TÜV data for 2008-2017 cars: springs, dampers, headlight aim, rear lamps and brakes, including discs from the second inspection, fail more often than average, as do oil leaks.2008–2017
On the 2008-2017 car the TSI petrol engines are known for timing chains that stretch and can jump teeth; VW extended goodwill cover for such damage on the 1.2 and 1.4 TSI.2008–2017
Most UK owners of 2008-2016 cars report few or no faults, low running costs and good economy, and several praise the grip and handling.2008–2016
