2015 Tesla Model S: what owners report

The central touchscreen and its computer fail repeatedly: French owners of 2016–2018 cars report black screens, repeat faults and recall work, a 2014 owner paid about €1,650 for a new MCU, and screen and MCU failures top the 2016 US list.2014–2018
Front suspension arms wear out: German TÜV inspectors named control arms as the main defect on 2017–2018 cars, a French owner of a 2018 car had the front wishbones replaced, and a US 2013 owner reports costly suspension wear.2013–2018
US owners of 2014 and 2017 cars are close to unanimous about the performance: instant power and strong acceleration, with sharp handling that one owner rates the best of any sedan.2014–2017
Running costs are a big draw for US owners: electricity costs far less than petrol, routine maintenance is minimal, and one 2014 owner has free Supercharging for life.2014–2017
