Toyota Avensis 2005

2005 Toyota Avensis: what owners report

• On the T25, the 2.2 D-4D diesel draws more negative than positive reliability verdicts from French owners; a German guide reports occasional cylinder head cracks, fixed under a factory recall, and rare head gasket failures.2003–2009
• The smaller T25 petrol engines (1.6 and especially 1.8) can use a lot of oil; affected engines were recalled, some replaced under goodwill.2003–2009
• Interior finish and plastic quality is the most frequent dislike among French owners of both the T25 and the T27.2003–2018
• French owners of the second generation (T25, 2003-2009) most often praise its comfort, road holding and noise insulation, and reliability is liked far more often than disliked.2003–2009
