2009 Toyota Prius: what owners report
- Third-generation cars were recalled for a short braking delay when switching from regenerative to friction braking (2010) and for inverter software on 2009-2014 builds that could cut power.2009–2014
- A German long-term test of an early third-generation car noted rattling rear doors, a less rigid body and cheaper cabin plastics; cars after the April 2012 facelift are said to be better.2009–2012
- German TÜV inspection data put the Prius below average for defects, and AUTO BILD's 100,000 km long-term tests of the second and third generations both ended with top marks and a trouble-free hybrid drive.2004–2015
