2009 Volkswagen Crafter: what owners report

On the first generation (2006-2016), worn brakes, rusty brake lines, worn tie rods and ball joints at high mileage, and 2.5 TDI engine damage from oil dilution are the known weak spots.2006–2016
Two Australian owners, of a 2006 van and one bought new in 2024, find the turning circle poor and the van bulky at roundabouts.2006–2024
Four of five Australian owners of first- and second-generation vans call the engine strong and reliable; a 2016 van ran 300,000 km without a breakdown.2006–2024
