2019 Volkswagen Crafter: what owners report

A German guide drawing on ADAC and TÜV/DEKRA data and driver surveys lists high oil consumption, AdBlue injection faults on some vans and early battery failures on the second generation sold from 2017.2017–2024
On the second generation the 2.0 TDI is only a limited match for the eight-speed automatic, and an Australian owner who bought his van new in 2024 says the gearbox hunts for gears.2017–2024
Build quality on the second generation is noticeably uneven, with rear doors that close poorly and creaking plastic trim; an Australian owner who bought new in 2020 reports a split seat and a loose door runner.2017–2024
Two Australian owners, of a 2006 van and one bought new in 2024, find the turning circle poor and the van bulky at roundabouts.2006–2024
