Volkswagen Jetta 2014

2014 Volkswagen Jetta: what owners report

• TSI petrol engines in the fifth and sixth generations can stretch their timing chain, heard as a rattle on cold start; the 1.2 TSI is worst affected.2005–2016
• The DSG dual-clutch gearbox on the sixth generation (2011-2016) can judder when pulling away, shift wrongly and wear its clutches early.2011–2016
• Fifth- and sixth-generation cars can lose power windows, central locking or mirrors; on the sixth, loose connectors are usually the cause, and tracing the fault is laborious.2005–2016
