Known Mechanical Issue
The Santa Fe generally drives reasonably well and recently completed a 50km open-road journey without significant issues.

There is an intermittent transmission issue, more noticeable once warm. Occasionally, gear changes are delayed, or the transmission holds a gear longer than expected. At times, it appears to remain in fourth rather than selecting higher gears.

The engine management light illuminated on 9 October, after workshop hours, so the fault codes haven’t been scanned.
An electrical, sensor or transmission-control fault is suspected, but this hasn’t been diagnosed. Mechanical transmission repairs may be required.
