The Eclipse Cross PHEV focuses more on smoothness, efficiency, and everyday usability than outright performance. Around town the twin electric motors make the vehicle feel quiet and responsive, especially during low-speed driving where it can operate mainly in EV mode.
The transition between electric and petrol power is generally smooth, giving the car a relaxed and refined character during daily commuting.
What makes the Eclipse Cross PHEV stand out is Mitsubishi’s Super All Wheel Control system combined with plug-in hybrid efficiency.
Unlike many small SUVs that are mainly front-wheel drive based, the AWD setup gives the car a noticeably more stable and confident feel in wet conditions and rough roads.
Owners regularly praise the comfort, practicality, and low running costs of the PHEV system, particularly for drivers who can regularly charge the battery and do shorter daily trips on electric power alone.
