Selling our 1973 Morris Mini after around 12–13 years of ownership. It started as a father-and-son project in 2013 and underwent an extensive restoration from a bare shell. The body was completely garnet grade media blasted, repaired where required with new floor sections, zinc arc-spray galvanized and cavity waxed, then fully repainted inside and out. The small-bore 1100cc A-Series was sourced from an Austin 1100, completely rebuilt to original specifications and runs a single carburetor with the original four-speed rod-shift manual. Brand new clutch and diff were included too. The subframes were restored and epoxy painted. The rear drum brakes rebuilt and the front upgraded to disc brakes. The interior has been kept largely original. The car has travelled approximately 15,000–20,000 km since the rebuild and drives well.
Current WOF and registration.
There are a few scratches/marks from use since the restoration and a tear in the driver’s seat, all shown in the photos.
It’s been a great little car and a project we’ve enjoyed for many years, but the time has come to let someone else enjoy it.
