Suzuki Swift 2017

A great little car looking for a new driveway.
2017 new-generation, Japanese import 5-door hatchback, 1.2L petrol (1240cc), automatic, with just 88,000km on the clock.
Economical, easy to park and ideal for getting around town. Everything you’d expect from a Suzuki Swift.
So why only $7,900?

1. My niece.
   My niece parked it in my driveway, handed me the key (singular, naturally, because she’s lost the other one), upgraded herself to a newer model and disappeared.
2. The infotainment screen.
   The infotainment screen has decided it’s had enough of entertaining anyone. It now displays a rather impressive blank white screen.
   Very minimalist. Very modern. Completely useless.
   The solution might range from something as simple as a reset to something as expensive as replacing the entire unit. My technical adviser is ChatGPT, whose mechanical qualifications are, shall we say, somewhat questionable.
   It hasn’t been professionally diagnosed.
   Trade Me currently estimates the car’s value between $10,690-$12,940.
   At $7,900, we’re asking thousands below Trade Me’s estimated value. Partly because of the screen, but mainly because I’d rather sell it promptly than spend an eternity advertising it.
   If you’re looking for a tidy, economical little automatic and can live without the onboard entertainment (or get it fixed), then this is exceptional buying.
   Fortunately, the engine hasn’t developed the same attitude as the screen.
   I may be willing to negotiate, but I won’t be responding to texts asking, “What’s your lowest price?”
   If you’re genuinely interested, come and have a look, take it for a test drive and put your negotiating skills to the test.
   Irrespective, you’ll be walking away with a bargain, and I’ll finally get my driveway back.
